About Recording Professor Kompressor

Professor Kompressor was a random happening. I was perusing a website for voice talent, looking to maybe get back into recording, when I stumbled on Professor Kompressor. I read the audition piece then went and bought the book to read the whole thing before auditioning. It fits in a specially humorous place in my heart. After reading it I wrote to Nils and told him I thought I was the guy to narrate his book. I auditioned, and (thankfully) Nils agrred. Getting back into recording after lo these many years (I was in my twenties the last tiem I did it seriously—and I'm forty as of this writing) was a fun endeavor. By fun I mean both enjoyable and frustrating as all get out. There's a lot to learn and re-learn, but since I hope to record audio books for all my stories, It's good to jump back in. The project took much longer than I planned for (or Nils planned for, but he was gracious), and at last we have the Audio book out and available. Hence the vinyl record art on the page here. Nil's humor and good-naturedness (is that a word?) makes the professor a great read (or listen. Yes... listen. It's easier—plus then you'll get to hear some of my voices).

PROFESSOR KOMPRESSOR

Written by Nils Anderson, Narrated by Me

Publisher's Summary

Professor Kompressor is an inventor. He is excellent at inventing, but the inventions are not always excellent.

The first book in the series about Professor Kompressor, an ever-so-slightly misguided inventor, contains 12 entertaining episodes from the Professor's inventing career.

When the Professor sets out to improve the world, unexpected things happen. Making your mechanical helper too clever might be an obvious mistake, but who would have known that tinkering with an old Volkswagen Beetle could turn out to be so dangerous?

And who would have thought that a time machine would turn out to be such a waste of... well... time?

Professor Kompressor is a fictional character, but his adventures are inspired by ideas from science and the modern world. They show that you can have a lot of fun with science and technology, especially if you allow for a little bit of creative misinterpretation.

A book that entertains children of all ages from Professor Nils Andersson, award-winning author and an authority on matters of gravity and the extremes of our weird and wonderful universe.
